Self-portrait,
The Collector (1994)
Made for
my first Group Exhibition in 1994. It won an honorable mention in a
contest at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in 1995 and was shown at the
Montreal Insectarium in 1998 during the Insect-Art exhibition. The costume
that I wore in the painting was inspired by the pattern of a South American
beetle (Acrocinus longimanus). |

Painting
realized during the period prior to the birth of my son (born prematurely
at 26 weeks and weighing 987 grams). Jonathan is healthy and doing well.
We can see Jonathan in the painting at the bottom left. This painting
was given to Jonathan at his christening. Jonathan was named after the
novel entitled "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" written by the
author Richard Bach. |
