STORAGE
BOXES AND PRESERVATION
For permanent use, you will want to have a wooden box with a lid which
fit down tightly over a rounded flange, making a pest-proof seal. The
pinning bottom can be made of composition "wall board" or balsa
wood, but neither is as satisfactory as entomological cork (which can
be obtained quite reasonably from dealers). If you are handy with tools,
satisfactory boxes are no problem to build. If not, they can be obtained
from dealers. (See links page
for dealer information.)
To
protect your specimens from dermestid beetles and other pests, you should
always keep flake naphthalene (moth balls) in the box. Secure the moth
balls from rolling by squeezing them in the corner with two or three needles.

Douglas, from Cuba, shows us a part of his collection.
